Dr. Mattingly is an Associate Professor of 音乐 and co-coordinator for the music education program at bet36365体育. She teaches 音乐 Methods for the Elementary Teacher, 音乐 in Early Childhood Education, Introduction to 音乐 Education, and Elementary 音乐 Methods for undergraduate and graduate music education students, as well as supervising student teachers. Dr. Mattingly holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in 音乐 Education from the University of Oklahoma and a Bachelor of 音乐 and Master of 音乐 in piano performance from the University of Tulsa. Her research interests include the work of Katalin Forrai, a prominent music educator who was instrumental in developing the field of early childhood music education in Hungary and around the world.
In 2013, Dr. Mattingly was awarded a Fulbright Student Grant that allowed her to live in Kecskemét, Hungary for nine months where she studied and conducted research at the Kodály Institute of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of 音乐. She has given research presentations at the international level, including the 2022 and 2020 International Society of 音乐 Education World Conferences, the 2019 International Kodály Society Symposium held in Malaysia, the 2016 International Society for Educational Biography Conference in San Antonio, 德州, and the 2015 International Katalin Forrai Conference at Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest. She has also given research presentations at the national and regional levels, including the 2019 Midwest Kodály 音乐 Educators Association Midwestern Division Conference, and the 2016 Organization of American Kodály Educators National Conference in Long Beach, California.
Dr. Mattingly is a member of the Nebraska 音乐 Educators Association, the National Association for 音乐 Education, the Plains States Kodály Organization, the Organization of American Kodály Educators, the International Kodály Society, and the International Society for 音乐 Education.
